BALEARES INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL JULY 4 – JULY 29, 2011

BALEARES INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL programme is designed for children up to the age of 14. For each age group, the morning is devoted to English language instruction. In the afternoon there are activities that are also taught in English that are fun and educational. UK Fully Qualified English (ESL) teachers who are native English speakers instruct each of the groups of about ten - fifteen students.

LOCATION: The camp is located in Sa Porrassa, Mallorca, Spain. The aquatic activities are held nearby. For more information about the summer school and to register, call Gabi at 971 133 167.

PROGRAMME OFFERINGS

The students will enjoy a well balanced and organized programme where the learning environment is engaging as well as educational.

MORNING PROGRAMME (9:30 – 12:30):

Durante la Escuela de Verano una de las opciones que se ofrecera´ por las mañanas serán un programa intensivo de inglés. Los alumnos asistirán a aproximadamente dos horas diarias de clase que seran impartidas por profesores experimentados. Las horas restantes de la mañana se dedicarán a varias actividades: manualidades, atletismo, expresión corporal, descubrimiento del entorno... que también se desarrollarán en inglés. Se ofrecerán clases a varios niveles.

HANDICRAFTS:

Each week, the students will complete a number of craft projects to bring home and share with the family. Among the handicrafts taught at Camp in the 2^nd morning period are:

DISCOVERY:

A number of fascinating science activities are planned. Each week new and different projects will be undertaken by the students. Among the science projects are:

EXPRESSION:

These activities are designed to encourage children in self-expression and to enhance their skills in both instrumental and vocal music, drama, dancing and pantomime.

AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES

(1:00 – 3:00)

These activities are conducted in English and provide the student with specialized vocabulary as well as developmental skills.

Students have a choice of afternoon activities. They can participate in one of the Sports programs or choose to participate in a range of activities that change each day. This choice is called Variety.

KINDERGARTEN PROGRAMME

For younger children from the age of 3 1/2 to 5 we offer a special programme under the direction of a qualified kindergarten teacher. The programme will teach crafts, games, discovery and expression. Special activities for this group will include pottery, finger painting, singing and dancing, and games that are designed to promote language and mathematical skills. You have a choice of two locations for kindergarten:
