Baleares International School – Summer
Fayre
On Saturday, June 6th 2009 the annual BIS Summer
Fayre took place, for the last time at the present site. The
theme was “At the Movies” and many children performed songs and
dance routines. Mrs Enright kept everyone guessing which movies
different songs came from and parents, teachers and pupils
provided a wide variety of food. There were Indian, Jamaican,
German, British, Mexican, Russian and South African delights to
sample and Year 12 organised a bar. Great excitement was caused
by the Genie who appeared resplendent with his Magic Carpet,
Jasmine and Aladdin! Some of the BIS Has Talent finalists also
performed and Ian Pickles graced the proceedings with a display
of ballroom dancing. The raffle prizes were drawn in conclusion
to the event, with the first prize being a television donated by
the Halifax bank. Dr Stoma will visit the school shortly to be
presented with the profits from this (and the equally successful
Christmas Bazaar) in the hope that the pupils of BIS can help
some less fortunate children in Africa.
The proceeds are primarily
given to Mediteranea Charity. Mediteranea
Charity is a Humanitarian Aid Organization. Please
